1. If you are in a home, you will need to set up your router/modem for port forwarding. To do this, go on your personal computer, and on your keyboard, click Windows Key + R. Type "CMD".
2. In the Command Prompt window, type "ipconfig". Under your adapter, next to IPv4 Address, find the number. It should look something like "192.168.x.x" or "172.21.x.x" or "169.254.x.x", etc. This is your IP address. Write it down somewhere.
3. In that window, next to Default Gateway, you will see another IP address. Write that down, and open a web browser. Type that IP in the address bar, and go.
4. Log in to your router/modem, and find Port Forwarding. It is in a different place depending on your router, so you may want to explore or look it up. It usually is under WAN, or WAN Setup, or under Tools. It varies. Once you find it, click it.
5. Add an entry with the source IP and local IP of your computer from before, and add "3389" as the port for Local Port and Port Range.
6. Go on your computer, and go into System Properties, by opening Windows Explorer/File Explorer and right clicking Computer/This PC, then clicking Properties.
7. On the left Panel, click Remote Settings, and click Allow remote connections to this computer, and don't check the box below.
8. Search Windows Firewall with Advanced Security (or if Windows 10, Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security), and on the left panel, click Incoming Connections. Click Add Rule, and set it to Port. In the Ports box, type "3389". Check Private, Public, and Domain (all) for the rule.
8. Restart your computer. Open a web browser, and in the address bar, type "My IP". Write down the IP given. This IP is different than the one before.
9. Go to Cloud Desktop, and use that IP in the host name box.
10. Connect!
If you purchase a domain and use the same IP from before for the DNS settings, you will also be able to use the domain name in the host name box.
